Mary Theresa MacDonald, age 88, of New Durham Road in Alton, NH, died March 3, 2015, peacefully, at home.
Born March 28, 1926 in Charlestown, Massachusetts, a daughter of James and Anne (Harrigan) Galvin, she resided in Massachusetts for years, resided in Arlington, Virginia for 20 years and resided in Alton, NH for over 40 years.
A loving mother who dedicated her life to the care of her family, she was the widow of George F. MacDonald, who died in 2002.
Survived by her daughter Janet M. and husband Roy Plourd of Alton, 2 sisters: Anne Wilkins and Dorothy Torpey, 2 nieces: Anne Marie Brazil and Marcia Aulenback, all of Burlington, Massachusetts. Predeceased by her daughter Susan Mary MacDonald, 2 brothers: Robert Galvin and James Galvin.
A calling hour will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 from 12Noon-1pm at Peaslee Alton Funeral Home, 12 School Street, Alton, NH, with a funeral at 1pm by Fr. Robert F. Cole, pastor of St. Katharine Drexel Church. A time of reception will follow at the funeral home. Interment will be in the spring at New Riverside Cemetery in Alton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to: NH Special Olympics.
