Mary Elizabeth Drugg passed away peacefully with family at her home in Burlington, MA on Saturday, November 6, 2021. She was 96. Mary was born on January 10, 1925 in a family home in Wakefield, NH to Grace and Howard Garvin. Mary was their only child. She and her parents lived in a beautiful home her dad built in Wakefield. She remained there for over 80 years before moving to Burlington to be with her son.
Mary attended Spaulding High School in Rochester NH and graduated from the University of New Hampshire. After college she married her husband of 49 years, Charles Drugg of Winchester, NH. Mary remained in the same family home with Charlie and raised their two sons, James and Scott.
Mary was a very active member of St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church in Wakefield. Mary began her legal secretary career for Cooper, Hall & Walker in Wolfeboro, NH. After many years, she joined the Robert Marsh Law Firm in Rochester, NH. She retired as the Deputy Tax Collector for the town of Wakefield. Mary spent her life enjoying time with her family and many friends. She and Charlie were very active with The Shriners, always traveling and participating in fundraising events. Summers were spent at their summer camp on Great East Lake. Cookouts and card games were regular events for the Drugg family and their many friends.
Mary spent her last years in Burlington, MA. She enjoyed making many new friends and regularly participated in the local social events. Mary loved her social media, keeping up with her old and new friends.
Mary leaves her son Scott Drugg and wife Trisha of Wakefield, NH and her daughter in law Nancy Drugg of Burlington. She leaves four grandchildren, Meghan Stanley of Wolfeboro, NH, Deanna Goggin, Devon Drugg of Burlington, MA and Derek Drugg of Billerica, MA. She leaves 6 great grandchildren. Mary's death is preceded by her husband Charles Drugg, son James Drugg and grandson Ryan Drugg.
Arrangements are by Peaslee Funeral Home in Wakefield. Mary will have a small church service on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 11:00 at St. John's, 118 High Street in Wakefield. A private burial will follow.
