Mary Agnes Cotton, age 91, passed away peacefully in her sleep, on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Mountain View Nursing Home in Ossipee, NH.
A hardworking woman, beloved mother and grandmother, Mary was a well known member of the Wakefield community. She moved to Wakefield, NH from Stamford, Connecticut, after meeting her soon to be husband Charles Almond Cotton. Mary and Charles married in January of 1944, they chose Wakefield to raise their family. She worked at Sarah's Spa and volunteered in many groups, including Hubbub dances, Hazel MacBrien School, the fire department, sporting events for Mark and many more.
Mary lost her husband Charles in October of 1979, she had to work more than three jobs at times to support her family. She was one of the hardest workers and committed herself in everything she did.
Mary surpassed her sons Jimmy and Mike, her daughter Charlene, and her husband Charles. She is leaving behind her oldest son Charlie and her youngest son Mark, along with thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
Mary was well loved and will be missed inemphly. A Service will be held at St. Anthony's Church in Wakefield on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 12Noon. Following the service, there will be a celebration of Mary's life, the location to be determined by the weather that day.
