Alton Bay, NH

Mary Rita Chamberlain, age 96 formerly of Alton Bay, NH and former Marblehead, MA resident, died on May 17, 2022, in Winter Haven, Florida.
Mrs.Chamberlain was born February 5, 1926 in Marion Heights, PA, to John Stanley Pelchar and Mary M Pelchar.
She received a Bachelor of Science from Bloomsburg State College in PA. While a student, she met her husband Carlton. He was serving in the United States Navy at that time and was also a student at Bloomsburg.
Following her marriage she moved to Massachusetts and taught briefly in North Reading. She then moved to Marblehead where she raised her family. She was an active member of Our Lady Star of the Sea where she volunteered on the Sick and Vigil Committee.
She enjoyed 40 years of retirement spending her time in Alton Bay, NH, and Haines City, FL.
She is survived by her four children Marjorie Bisognano of The Villages, FL; Beverley Rattigan of Bedford, NH; Carol Nally of Narragansett, RI; Carl Chamberlain of Alton Bay, NH, and their spouses, four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Carlton Lee Chamberlain who was an administrator in the Marblehead School System.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 11am at St. Katharine Drexel Church in Alton, NH, with Fr. Robert F.
