Martin W. “Marty” Woodbury, 66, of Pineland Park, passed away on March 21, 2026, at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, with his family by his side after a short battle with respiratory failure.
He was born on March 24, 1959, in Rochester, New Hampshire, the son of Ernest Woodbury and Norma R. (Burroughs) Jewett.
Marty enjoyed motorcycle riding with his wife, grandchildren, his brother Dana, and sister-in-law Debbie. He was an avid hunter and loved ice fishing, four-wheeling, camping, and any outdoor activity. Marty cherished making memories with his daughters, Jamie-Lynn and Amy, and he especially loved doing anything and everything with his grandchildren.
Jaelyn’s favorite memory with her grampa was going for day rides on the motorcycle and stopping at Johnson’s to eat haddock. Merci’s favorite memory is when she and her grampa went hunting and shot a deer. Andrew will miss learning from his grampa how to use tools, especially when he was taught how to use a chainsaw.
Marty is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joanne (Gathercole) Woodbury; his daughters, Jamie-Lynn Woodbury of Rochester, New Hampshire, and Amy Woodbury of Milton, New Hampshire; his brother, Dana Jewett and his wife, Debbie, of Brookfield, New Hampshire; and his grandchildren, Jaelyn Woodbury, Merci Whitney, and Andrew Howe. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother, Norma Jewett; his father, Ernest Woodbury; his stepfather, Clayton Jewett; his brothers, Richard, Dwayne, and Wesley Woodbury; and his grandparents, Wilfred and Emily Burroughs.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marty’s name to Seacoast Cancer Center, 789 Central Ave, Dover, NH 03820.
A celebration of Marty’s life will be held at a later date.
