Martha Jane Towle of Wakefield, NH passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on December 27, 2020, her wedding anniversary of 56 years to her husband, David Q. Towle.

Martha was born in Laconia, NH on January 5, 1940, daughter of William and Margaret (Lover) Filgate.  She graduated from Plymouth Teacher's College and taught in the Farmington and Wakefield School systems in the 1960s.

Martha was a wonderful wife, mother and beloved grandmother.  Her family meant the world to her.  She enjoyed nature, reading, knitting and especially hydro fitness where she had many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters Valna and Mary.  She is survived by her husband, David Q. Towle, daughter Mary-Elizabeth Towle and son, Michael David Towle and his fiancé Katie Walsh as well as Granddaughter Megan and husband Corey Ryder, Great-granddaughter, Keira Jane Ryder and Grandson Justin Hill.  Martha is also survived by her brother William Filgate and many nieces and nephews.

Burial will be in the Springtime at the Milton Mills Cemetery – date to be determined.  Arrangements are being made by Peaslee Funeral Home, Wakefield, NH.
