Wakefield, MA

Martha L. Hayden age 90, a resident of Brightview Senior Living in Wakefield, MA, passed away, peacefully at home on February 19, 2023.

Born July 24, 1932 in Cambridge, MA, daughter of Harry V. and Elizabeth (Bingham) Livingstone, she was a graduate of Winthrop, MA High School, Class of 1952.  On August 14, 1953, she married David N. Hayden.

On October 19, 1976, Martha earned her LPN working at the Chelsea Soldiers Home, in 1980, she went on to earn her Registered Nurse degree while working at Somerville, MA Hospital.  She retired from the Chelsea Soldiers Home in 1992.

In 1999, she and her husband moved to W. Newfield, Maine, in 2006 they moved into their new home in Alton, NH.  On November 30, 2020, they moved to Brightview Assisted Living in Wakefield, MA.

Survived by her loving husband David N. Hayden and their 3 children: Laurel Coston of SC, D. Scott & wife Kim Hayden of Virginia, Neil E. & wife Susan Hayden of Lynnfield, MA, a brother Thomas & wife Lyda Livingstone, 12 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her son in law Maurice Coston.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at 2pm at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH 03303, with Rev. Dr. Samuel Hollo, officiating.
