Obituary

Mark Vickery Pearson, 73 of Alton, passed away, peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, on February 3, 2023, in Dover, NH.

He was born in Wolfeboro, NH, son of Ann and Welton Pearson on October 17th, 1949, Mark went to Alton Elementary/High School K-12, he attended Thompson School of Applied Science at the University of New Hampshire and matriculated into his UNH Bachelor's program, earning himself a Bachelor's of Horticultural Science degree.

During college, Mark was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho. His fraternity days held some of his most cherished memories and produced life long bonds and friendships.

Mark was a Christian of Protestant faith. As a young adult, Mark served as a Deacon at the Congregational Church of North Barnstead, UCC, where he, his children and his grandchildren were baptized.

Preceded in death by his Father, Welton Pearson, his mother, Ann (Meader) Pearson and his brother, Paul Pearson,  he is survived by his family, Patricia Hayes, Reed M. Pearson, Cayla J. Pearson, Breezy J. Hilton and Richard J. Hilton and his grandchildren: Embry Marie Hilton,10, Grace Marie Luckern, 9, Ryker Strong Pearson, 8, Cohen Michael Hilton, 8, Cali Victoria Hilton, 6, Thatcher Charles Pearson, 6, Lilli Amora Hilton, 3, Remington Snow Pearson, 3, and Haliston Blake Doliber, 2

Mark started his own business, Pearson's Greenhouses, in 1967. Today , Pearson's Greenhouses has earned its reputation as the highest quality, potted, annuals, perennials and herbs around! He has many wholesale accounts that span all across New Hampshire and at times, into Maine and Massachusetts. Pearson's Greenhouses has a retail location on Route 11 in Farmington, NH that offers Pearson's retail customers all the variety and selection of a wholesale client.

Mark was always busy and always had a smile on his face.

"Walk with me," he would say, as he would chat, while speed walking from Greenhouse to Greenhouse. The phone was always ringing. An employee was always wondering what to do next. There was always a customer that needed him in the office. There were always always always plants that needed to be watered. He thrived on it. He needed it. He was great at it.

In the winter, Pearson's Greenhouses is intimate with a close, core crew. In the Spring, it is alive, buzzing, aromatic and colorful. It is the place you want to be.

Throughout the years, he didn't just grow plants in the greenhouses, but also long lasting relationships that will foster eternal, heartwarming memories for all that were lucky enough to be part of his beautiful legacy. A legacy that he has passed on to his son, Reed M. Pearson, who he has trusted as his right hand man for the last 20+ years.

Mark's loved ones have comfort in knowing that he is no longer experiencing any pain or discomfort. The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Wentworth Douglass Hospital for treating Mark with such care and respect and bringing a sense of safety, compassion and peace during such a difficult time.
