Marjorie E. (Winsor) Hunt, age 90, formerly of Farmington, died September 5, 2011 at Forestview Manor in Meredith.
Born February 28, 1921 in Everett, MA, the daughter of Edward T. and Mary L. (Rowe) Winsor, she was raised there and had resided in Farmington, NH for almost fifty years.
Prior to moving to NH, she worked at Haley and Cate in Everett, MA and at the Federal Reserve Bank in Boston. Marjorie and her husband Robert B. Hunt had owned and operated the Farmington Insurance Agency for many years. She worked with him in the business from 1967 until her retirement in 1984.
A member of the First Congregational Church in Farmington, she was also a member of the Women's Fellowship at church, a member of the Farmington Women's Club, the Historical Society and she sang with the Clementines.
She loved to travel throughout the United States and Canada. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Widow of the late Robert B. Hunt, who died in 1982, she is survived by their son: Robert E. and wife Carolyn Hunt of Belmont, 2 grandchildren: Jamie Lynn Hunt and Trevor Steven Hunt, a brother: Frank Winsor of Wakefield, MA, also many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 sisters: Florence Homer and Katherine Peddle, and 3 brothers: John, George and Edward Winsor.
Calling hours are Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 9, 2011 at the funeral home at 11:00 am with Rev. Debra Pratt-Peckham, pastor of First Congregational Church, officiating.
