Marjorie Anne (Hillsgrove) Durkee, 69, formerly of Barnstead, NH, passed away peacefully at her home in Loris, South Carolina, on May 23, 2026, surrounded by family.

Marjorie is remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family, friends, and community, her love of horses, her cow memorabilia and her ever‑popular chocolate chip cookies. She enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, and playing Aggravation with her mother, husband, and sister.

Born on October 4, 1956, in Laconia, NH, Marjorie was the daughter of the late W. Merl and Frances (Prescott) Hillsgrove. She is survived by her loving husband, Kevin Durkee of Loris, SC; her sister, Carolyn (Hillsgrove) Rines of Sunset Beach, NC; her brother, James Hillsgrove of Amherst, NH; her son, Kenneth Durkee, and his wife, Shelly, of Yorktown, VA; her daughter, Christina Durkee MacDonald, and her husband, Keith, of Amherst, NH, five grandchildren and two great‑grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the home of her sister, Carolyn Rines, followed by a graveside service on July 18 at 11 a.m. at Riverview Cemetery in Barnstead, NH.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations in Marjorie’s memory to the American Cancer Society (American Cancer Society) or the Susan G. Komen Foundation (www.komen.org).
