Obituary

Marion E. Maleham, 81, of Province Lake Road in Wakefield, died May 5, 2011, at home, surrounded by her loving family.



Born January 13, 1930 in Parsonsfield, Maine, daughter of Robert and Marion (Drew) Welch, she resided in Wakefield, New Hampshire for many years.



In earlier years, she was employed at Colby Footwear and Hubbard Shoe. She was also employed as a Postal Clerk with the United States Postal Service.



Marion was a member of the First Congregational Church of Wakefield, where she had served as Sunday School Superintendent. She was also a former Girl Scout Leader. A 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Wakefield Grange, she had served as Treasurer of the Salvation Army for the Wakefield area.



Survived by her husband of 64 years Herbert W. Maleham, Jr and son William H. and wife April Maleham of Wakefield, 2 daughters: Marion E. and husband Cliff Trafton of Milton, Darlene A. and husband Robert Clement of Berwick, Maine, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter, a sister Althea and husband Richard Currier of Beverly, Mass., also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 3 siblings: Robert Welch, Pauline Gauthier and Patsy Parker.



There are no calling hours, family and friends are welcome to a Memorial Service at First Congregational Church of Wakefield, 2718 Wakefield Road, Wakefield, NH on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 11:00 am with Rev. Mary James, pastor, officiating. The family extends a special thank you to Rural District VNA/Hospice and to all of Marion's caregivers.
