Marie Elaine Sessler age 75, of Rochester, NH passed away on August 6, 2023 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, of natural causes.

Born in Rochester, NH on December 16, 1947, daughter of Roland Sessler and Margaret (Boulet) Sessler. A lifelong resident of Rochester, NH.  She spent the majority of her working years at various shoe shops in the area and then in traffic control until she retired to pursue her dream of harness racing..

Lovingly known as "Sess" by all of her friends, most of which she considered her family, she was an avid horseman and spent 7 years in Exeter, Maine raising and racing Standardbred race horses, an utter passion of hers.   The only thing that surpassed her love of harness racing was her love of her family.

Elaine is survived by her loving brother Ronald R. Sessler and many nieces and nephews that she held very dear.  She especially loved her heart to heart chats with Mary Jayne "Cookie" and David.

Sess also leaves behind her beautiful family founded in love and friendship, Neille Sullivan, Crystalyn Morin and her children, Mathew Morin, Christoper Morin and Quinci Morin-Farias and their children.  The list of lives she touched over the years with vast amounts of love is boundless, She loved deeply the many children she helped raise and considered each and every one of them her own.

She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Robert "Bobby" Sessler, and 2 sisters Marilyn Sessler and Theresa (Sessler) George and her life-long friend Mickey Smith.

A very special thank you to Pee Wee Nason, who spent the last few months helping care for Sess.  You are a true friend and we are eternally grateful.

And to you Sess, our dearest friend, our hearts will never be the same without your love and laughter.  You are severely missed by all.  Rest easy my friend.

Graveside service will be held on Friday October 27, 2023, 10am at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Rochester, NH.
