Marie (Betty Lou) Van Polen, age 75, of Highland Street in East Rochester, died July 23, 2017 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital.
Born April 12, 1942 in Holyoke, MA, a daughter of John and Florence (Gagnon) Parks, she resided in the Rochester, NH area for many years.
Prior to retirement, she worked as a Crossing Guard for the Rochester Police Department and also had worked for years at Spaulding Composites.
A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she is survived by her children: Betty and husband James Brennan; June and husband Otto Nutting; Pamela Sirois; Julie and husband John Allard; Brenda and husband Greg Sewall; Robert and wife Jamilyn Van Polen; Kerry Boston and companion Ernest Cayes; Molly Morgan, Terrence Morgan, Reggie Pennell, III and Ryan Pennell, also many grandchildren, great grandchildren and her beloved dog Sara. Predeceased by her parents, a son John Pennell and granddaughter Brandy Sewall.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 12Noon at the American Legion on Eastern Avenue in Rochester. If desired, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association or Cornerstone VNA/Hospice, 178 Farmington Road, Rochester, NH 03867.
