Marie Ann Downs age 77, of Rochester, NH, passed away on March 29, 2026, at Wentworth Douglass Hospital of natural causes.

Born Rochester, NH, on February 12, 1949, raised in Milton, NH,  daughter of Raymond F. Downs and Ruby J. (Clifford) Downs.

Marie spent the past 10 years at Lilac View Assisted Living, enjoying the company of family, staff, and the residents.

She enjoyed going out for lunch weekly, trips to the mountains and ocean.

Marie cherished her family above all, she was affectionately called “Grammy Marie” by her 3 grandchildren.

Survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Desiree Hafford and Guy Hafford, II, 3 grandchildren: Guy Hafford, III, Tristen Smith, and Wade Hafford, great grandson: Levi Smith, her brother: Mike Downs and Rita Down, and her sister: Peggy. Predeceased by her parents, and 2 brothers: Raymond Downs and Louis F. Downs.

A celebration of Marie’s life will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 4:00pm – 6:00pm at Desiree and Guy’s house, 19 Tufts Rd, Middleton, NH.
