Alton, NH

Margaret Louise (Clark) Preston, age 77, passed peacefully at home with family, Monday, July 7, 2014, after a long battle with illness.

Born January 3, 1937 in Kezar Falls, Maine, "Peggy", as she was known to family, or "Meg", as she was known to friends, was the daughter of Walter E. Clark, Jr. and Florence (Robbins) Clark of Old Orchard Beach, Maine. She was a graduate of Colby College in Waterville, Maine.

Before moving to Alton NH in 2005, Meg lived in Epping NH for over 40 years, where she owned and operated "Rum Brook Farm", and was a dedicated and celebrated breeder of Morgan horses. Her stallion, "Immortal Command" was her pride and joy, earning her many accolades in the Morgan community. In addition to her work with horses, Meg also enjoyed stamping, knitting, sewing, reading, gardening, and had a great love of all animals. Most of all, she enjoyed long conversations with her young grandson, who shared her interests in flowers, animals, and geology.

Widow of the late Richard W. Preston, who died in 1983, she is survived by their son, Randall "Randy" Preston, his wife Lori Albert Preston, and grandson, Randall E. Preston, II; two brothers: Malcom S. Clark (pre-deceased) and David Clark of London, England; 2 nieces; dear cousins Marguerite Gardner and Beth Gardner of Hollis Center, Maine, and Donald Smith of South Portland, Maine.

Calling hours are Friday, July 11, 2014 from 1-3 pm at Peaslee Alton Funeral Home, 12 School Street, Alton, NH. A private burial service is planned at the family plot in Clarks Mills, Maine. To express condolences, please visit: www.peasleefuneralhome.com
