IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret "Susie"
N. Mckinley
February 7, 1932 – June 29, 2018
West Concord, MA
Margaret "Susie" N. (Hill) McKinley, age 86, of West Concord, MA, formally of Milton Mills, NH, passed away in her sleep Friday, June 29, 2018 at her home surrounded by family.
Born on February 7, 1932 in Boston, MA, the daughter of Allen G. and Isabel F. (Tarr) Hill. She was raised in Gloucester, MA. She has lived in Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut, Colorado, Idaho, Maryland, most specially, Milton Mills, New Hampshire for over 40 years and most recently West Concord, Massachusetts for over 2 ½ years.
She had graduated from Gloucester, MA and had received her Bachelor's Degree at Bethany College in West Virginia.
Susie had worked as an assistant to the director of the New Hampshire Farm Museum in Milton, NH for over 25 years. She was very dedicated volunteering in the community, from the DAR to the Milton Historical Society, the Animal Rescue Society and the New Hampshire Farm Museum.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Former NH State Representative, Robert E. McKinley, son Eric and Mandy McKinley, daughter Laurie and David Avakian and 6 grandchildren Samuel, Sean, Tess, Lilia, Michael, and Nicholas.
Upon achieving an empty nest and retirement, Bob and Susie traveled the world, visiting countries in Scandinavia, South America, and across our great nation. She then settled in West Concord, MA where she could be close to her daughter, Laurie and her family.
Most remarkable, and what we will both love and miss the most was her devotion to her husband and family. She tirelessly hosted many family gatherings, extending her household to siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews to overflowing capacity. She also accepted (and encouraged) our family's wonderful, and perhaps eccentric, senses of humor to the fullest extent. She will be missed by many.
A Celebration of Susie's Life will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 11:30am at the West Concord Union Church, 1317 Main St., Concord, MA 01742 reception to follow in the basement of West Concord Union Church.
A calling hour will be held Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 12pm-1pm at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central St., Farmington, NH 03835.
