Margaret H. McAteer, age 95, of Merrymeeting Road in New Durham, died November 7, 2015, peacefully at home.
Margaret was born on August 5, 1920 in Concord, NH, the daughter of Arthur and Maude (Glauson) Miner. She grew up in Concord and attend nursing school at Somerville Hospital in Massachusetts. Margaret lived in Canton and Sharon before retiring from Norwood Hospital and moving to Gilford, NH in the 1980's. For the past eleven years she lived in New Durham, NH. Margaret loved to travel, was an avid gardener, enjoyed playing the organ and found great joy in her cats. Margaret was predeceased by her husband: Arthur Taylor and husband: John McAteer, as well as her two brother's Warren and Russell Miner. She is survived by her son, James and daughter-in-law, Merle Taylor of New Durham, NH, granddaughter, Karen Taylor and partner Bill Paige of Concord, NH and granddaughter, Tanya Taylor and fiancée Katie Light of Nashua, NH. Margaret also has several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held in the old Chapel at St. Paul's School in Concord, NH on Friday, November 13th at 11:15. If desired, memorial donations may be made in her memory to: NH Humane Society, PO Box 572 Laconia NH 03247.
