Louis J. Belanger Jr. (Lou), age 79, formally of Farmington, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2024, at The Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord, NH.
Lou was born January 25, 1945, at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New Hampshire. He was one of several children of Louis J Belanger and Ella L. (Cox) Belanger. Lou lived in the area for most of his life and is survived by a sister, daughter, and others. Lou had two previous marriages to Christine H. and Sherry M.
Lou received his early education at the Holy Rosary School in Rochester.
Lou was skilled in numerous aspects of the construction industry where he worked during his life. He was an exceptional auto mechanic, heavy equipment operator, carpenter, plumber, electrician, painter, etc. in the best Yankee tradition. He was a stickler for details on his projects and often researched techniques and specifications to do the job in the correct fashion.
"Iron Man Lou" was also a talented blacksmith artist. Using his kilns, power hammers, torches, and welders he created tools, castings, artwork, and amazing weathervanes.
Lou was a good man and loyal friend to many and will be missed.
