Lorraine S. Hagen, 82, of Stage Road in Gilmanton Iron Works, NH died May 7, 2011 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
Born August 25, 1928 in Quincy, MA, daughter of Oswald K. and Una (Baker) Batstone, she resided in Gilmanton Iron Works, NH, since 1982, having previously resided on Kevin Road in Brockton, MA.
A communicant at St. Katharine Drexel Church in Alton, she was an active member of the Alton Senior Center, having served as a Past Treasurer, she and her husband have volunteered there for many years, also a member of Gilmanton Iron Works Community Club. Lorraine loved to play Bingo and enjoyed trips to Foxwoods. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and was an avid Red Sox fan.
She especially loved her family, friends and pets, survived by her husband of 63 years John W. Hagen and their 2 daughters: Christine and husband David Horrocks of Bridgewater, MA, Nancy and husband Alden Cooper of No. Attleboro, MA, 5 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren, also several Nieces and Nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Vivian Cadger and a brother Gerald Batstone.
Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-7 pm at Peaslee Alton Funeral Home, 12 School Street, Alton, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 10:00 am at St. Katharine Drexel Church, 40 Hidden Springs Road (Route 28N) with Fr. Robert F. Cole, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will be on Friday at 11:00 am at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree, MA.
