Loretta Elaine Langley, 85 of Lebanon Maine, passed away peacefully at her home on December 19, 2023. Born in Rochester NH on October 14, 1938 the daughter of George Arnold and Lora LaTourelle. The wife of the late Ralph E. Langley, whom she was married to for over 40 years. Loretta graduated from Farmington High School in 1956, where she enjoyed playing on the girls basketball team. After marrying Ralph in 1961, they made their home in Madbury NH, raising five children. Loretta was the leader of the Madbury 4-H Club for many years where she had a positive impact on countless young lives. Loretta was employed at Oyster High School for 41 years holding many positions including food service manager. In 1986 Ralph and Loretta moved to their forever home in Lebanon Maine.
Loretta was a life-long Boston Red Sox fan. She once got the opportunity to see them play and win at Yankee Stadium. In recent years she enjoyed travelling with her family taking trips to Montana, Seattle, Washington DC, Nashville and Memphis to see Graceland, home of her idol Elvis. In December 2022 she went to Disney World for the first time.
Loretta enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Family time was her favorite time. She also enjoyed going out to eat with her many friends on a weekly basis. She volunteered every Friday at the We Care Food Pantry in Milton where she made many great friends and enjoyed serving the community. In October, she celebrated her 85th birthday with a party, attended by her many friends and family.
She is survived by all of her children, son Jeffrey F. Langley of Farmington NH, daughter Heide-Marie Bonner and her husband Ronald of Newfields NH, son Wallace J. Langley and his wife Susan of Milton NH, son Ricky E. Langley and his wife Sylvia of Farmington NH, daughter Penny A. Collamore and her husband Frank of East Kingston, NH. Her grandchildren, Emery A. Myshrall of Lebanon ME, James Langley of Big Sky Montana, Kevin Langley of Lebanon ME, Katy M. Szeliga of Barrington NH, Crystal E. Langley of Springvale ME, Ashley R. Syvinski, Brieann Furco, Cynthia Langley of Farmington NH, Sydney A. Collamore and Rachel E. Collamore of East Kingston NH. Five great-children, Jayde Syvinski, Lucas Langley, Addison Langley, Elena Szeliga, and Waylon Syvinski. Also survived by her brother, George Arnold of Middleton NH, and her beloved dog Abby.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph E. Langley, her grandson Adam Langley, her sisters Patricia Blakeney and Lena Dunton, her brothers Roger Arnold, William Arnold, David Arnold, and Ronald Benson.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to the We Care Food Pantry or the American Heart Association.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday December 26, 2023, from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street in Farmington, NH.
