Lloyd R. Wentworth, 91, died peacefully at his home on April 22, 2011.
Born August 28, 1919 in Union, the son of Roscoe and Blanche (Tufts) Wentworth, like many of his friends, he served in the United States Army from 1944-1946.
In 1940, he married the love of his life Miriam (Corson) Wentworth. They resided in Union in the home they built called "town line acres".
A truck driver, he drove for New England Box and also for DiPrizio's. He mowed for the State of NH for 3 years also worked as a donut baker at his son and daughter in law's business Dunkin Donuts in Rochester.
Lloyd was a passionate craftsman and innovator with one lunger engines. He was a member of NH Power of the Past, Maine Antique, Rough and Tumble in Kinzer, PA and Raitt's Farm in Eliot, Maine.
Survived by his loving wife of over 70 years Miriam C. Wentworth, their son Paul N. Wentworth, Sr. and wife Jeanne P. Wentworth, 3 grandchildren: Kristina A. Wentworth, Regina R. Wentworth-Mondoux and husband Greg Mondoux, Paul N. Wentworth, Jr. and wife Jennifer Wentworth, 3 great grandchildren: Gino and Angelina Deluca and Bradley Mondoux, also his beloved dog "Dudley". He was predeceased by a son Richard A. Wentworth in 1976, a granddaughter Lisa Wentworth Gratten in 2006 and 2 sisters: Mildred and Dorothy.
Calling hours are Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH. A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 11:00 am at Milton Mills Cemetery.
