Leslie Oliver Chase, II, 89, of Milton, NH passed away peacefully on November 20, 2024 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital, following a period of declining health. Born January 26,1935, in Rochester, NH, he was the son of the late Leslie Chase, Sr., and Doris (Fortier) Chase. He was married to the late Marilyn Hoadley Chase who died in 2010. They were married for 52 years.
Lee graduated from Nute High School, Class of 1952. He also attended the University of New Hampshire. After graduation, Lee enlisted in the Navy, proudly serving his country as a Tin Can Sailor on a Destroyer, from 1954-1958.
Lee and Marilyn married in 1958, and in 1966, settled in Williston, VT, where they raised their two children, Leslie and Rebecca. Lee enjoyed a fulfilling career in sales at IBM in Essex Junction, VT, where he made many lifelong friends. He and Marilyn loved traveling and sailing, ultimately retiring to the Caribbean on their sailboat the Sequela, where they spent many years sailing between the Caribbean Islands with family and friends. The island of Trinidad was home to them for many years. Lee was a devoted husband, father and grandfather to his family. In his private time, he was an avid golfer and skier, while also earning his Private Pilot's license. In 2002, Lee and his wife returned to the family homestead in Milton, NH where he cared for her until her passing in 2010.
In 2013, Lee married Connie Therrien, of Farmington, NH. He enjoyed their home on the lake in Milton, NH and could often be found cruising the lake on his pontoon boat with Connie. They both were also active members of the Three Ponds Lake Association for several years.
He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Connie, of Milton, NH; brother George, (Lynette), of Exeter, NH, daughter, Rebecca Waterman, of Colorado, daughter-in-law, Wendy Chase, of Newfields, NH, grandchildren, Alexis, Thurman, Abbey, of Colorado, Chelsea, of Portsmouth, NH, Jake, of Dunedin, FL, great-granddaughter, Eleni, of Colorado, dear friends Dick and Pat Payne, of Shelburne, VT, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Lee was predeceased by his parents, first wife, Marilyn, son, Leslie Chase, III, sister, Nancy Hall, brother-in-law, Peter Hall and great-grandson, Oliver.
There will be a viewing from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Saturday, November 30, 2024, followed by a brief service at 11:00 am at the Peaslee Farmington Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH 03835.
