Leonard Walter Abrahamson

October 1, 1944 - July 16, 2017

Len was born in Brockton, Massachusetts on October 1, 1944 and passed away on July 16, 2017. He married his beloved wife, Jody Quinlan Abrahamson, in Delmar, NY on October 9, 1965. Len was preceded in death by his parents, Eldon Andrew Abrahamson Sr. and Carie Stevens, and his step father, John Stevens, as well as his sister, Diane Abrahamson Teschlog.

A strong and loving husband and father, Len is survived by his wife, Jody Quinlan Abrahamson, of Brookfield, son, Leonard W. Abrahamson, Jr., and wife, Melissa, of So. Berwick, ME, and their children, Nathan and Kaelyn. He is also survived by his son, Kevin W. Abrahamson and wife, Kimberly, of Newfields, NH, and their children, Matthew, Tyler and Meghan Abrahamson, Lukas Hartwell, and Kayla Theori and husband, Loucas, of Chester, NH and their children, Carter and Alexandra. He is also survived by his brother, Eldon Andrew Abrahamson, Jr., and wife, Brenda, of Dover, NH.

Len was a proud Marine serving during the Vietnam War, as a master aviation mechanic and sharp shooter. He enjoyed a life-long career as an industrial arts teacher, retiring from Winnacunnet High School in 2004, and was loved by his colleagues and students, who affectionately called him "Mr. Abe".

Len loved anything with motors. He was an avid drag racer, snowmobiler, and classic boat restorer. Len served as the dedicated president of the Seven Lakes Snowmobile Club for ten years. For 40 years he and his wife shared a passion for raising and showing Shelties. Len had an outgoing personality and friendly demeanor; his sense of humor and good nature was enjoyed by all who knew him.

A memorial service for Len will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Peaslee Funeral Home, 2079 Wakefield Rd. Wakefield, NH 03872. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Seven Lakes Snowmobile Club, East Wakefield, NH 03830 sevenlakessnowmobileclub.com
