Lawrence Ernest Canney "Larry", age 61, passed away December 22, 2025 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

Born on July 27, 1964 in Rochester, NH, a son of Shiela (VanBuskirk) and Mervale Canney, Jr., Larry spent his childhood in Rochester with his mom, dad and 9 siblings.  His days were spent riding bikes, tending to the animals and kennel dogs.

He met the love of his life in 1984, he and Kelly (Leighton) were married for 39 years.

Larry loved to hunt and fish, he fished many lakes, ponds and streams in New Hampshire and Maine.  Colebrook, NH was his "happy place", where he spent many summers at the camp.

Larry leaves his wife Kelly Canney and children: Nicholas & fiance' Taylor, Romeo, Jasmine, Carly and Carlitos Canney, 4 brothers: Dennis & wife Lynn Peters, Ronald and wife Tamika Canney,  Robert Canney, Jerry & wife  Ann Canney, and 4 sisters: Sandra Woods & husband John, Susan Hobson & Glenn, Brenda Watts & wife Lynn, Tammy Canney, mother in law Mildred Leighton, sister in law Kathryn Moffett & Phil, brothers in law: Michael Leighton & Nancy, Kenneth Leighton & Barbara, he also leaves his best friend and canine companion Tyson.  Predeceased by his son Ryan Canney, his parents, his sister Michelle, and father in law Herbert Leighton.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026 at the Moose Lodge in Milton, NH from 6pm-10pm, family and friends are welcome.
