Laurence K. "Larry" Brown, age 96, a former longtime resident of Farmington, NH, died June 22, 2018 at Hawthorne House in Freeport, Maine.
Born September 29, 1921 in Farmington, NH, a son of Ira S. and Mildred (Knox) Brown, he resided most of his life there.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, having served during WWII.
Larry was a retired Motor Coach Operator with Continental Trailways, a recipient of the "Million Mile Safety Award".
A parishioner of St. Peter Church in Farmington, he was a former Custodian there for 25 years and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Larry was an accomplished musician, playing the guitar, piano, organ and banjo, formerly playing with a band on the local radio.
Widower of the late Bertha I. (Gaudreault) Brown, he is survived by their children: Laurence K. Brown, Jr., Gail Merrill, Pamela Merrill, Linda Brown, Karen Russell,
Denise Brennan, Michelle Brown, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, also nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 2 sons Kevin and Charles and a brother Marshall Brown.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 11am at St. Peter Church, 88 Central Street, Farmington, NH with Fr. Thomas Duston, pastor, as celebrant. A calling hour is prior to the service from 9:30-10:30am at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street in Farmington. If desired, memorial donations may be made in his memory to NH Catholic Charities.
