She worked at Homemakers of Strafford County from 1991 until her retirement at aged 74. She continued to volunteer there for many years after retirement. She loved doing cross stitch for the craft fair, baking pies and cookies to feed fellow congregants, and serving as the thrift store's resident ironing expert. She loved many of the children she taught at the church as if they were her own children and grandchildren and followed their achievements with pride.
