Kenneth Joseph Hynes, age 78, of New Durham, NH, died August 27, 2023, at home after a period of failing health.

Kenneth was born in Cambridge, MA on June 21, 1945, the second son of Thomas & Catherine (Driscoll) Hynes. Raised in Cambridge, he graduated from Our Lady of Pity High School. Married on November 26, 1966 to Margaret Mahoney of Winchester at St. Catherine's Church in Somerville, MA. They raised their family in Cambridge, MA, before moving to New Durham, NH in 1989.

Ken's joy in life was his family.  The majority of his life was worked in the construction industry – hanging drywall and then estimating.  Researching genealogy and "puttering around" the log cabin kept him entertained during his retirement years.

Ken was predeceased by his wife of 47 years in 2014.  Surviving members of his family include 2 daughters:  Kathryn and husband Douglas Perkins of New Durham, NH; Marianne and husband Salvatore Nicastro of Alton, NH; 6 grandchildren:  Allison, Sean and Matthew Perkins, Jacquelyn, Arianna and Veronica Nicastro; 5 great-grandchildren:  Maverick, Evelynn and Dawson Leone, Stella and Sawyer Rowell and 5 brothers and 2 sisters:  Thomas, Daniel, David, Marc, Lisamarie, Janice and J Matthew.  There are also many cousins, nieces, nephews and long-time friends.

Family and friends may visit at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH on Thursday, August 31 from 5:00-7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 1 at 10:00 AM at St. Katharine Drexel Church, 40 Hidden Springs Road (Route 28N) in Alton, NH with Fr. Robert F. Cole, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery on Brock Street in Rochester, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. Katharine Drexel Parish, c/o Lighthouse Pregnancy, PO Box 180, Wolfeboro NH 03894.
