Keith R. Mitchell, age 62, passed away on February 12, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.

Born May 16, 1952 in Dover, NH, the son of Basil and Lydia Mitchell of Rollinsford, NH, he was a graduate of Dover High School.

Keith was retired from Laborers Union Local 976, Portsmouth, NH.

Family was most important in Keith's life, he was well respected within his community, and was passionate about everything he did.

Keith was very involved in his community, volunteering as a firefighter and state fire warden. He also served as a Selectman, Town of Middleton for many years.

Keith also volunteered his time as a little league baseball coach with the Farmington 500 Boys and Girls Club. He enjoyed the outdoors, spending time hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading and was a history buff.

Survived by his wife of 33 years: Diane (Pelletier) Mitchell and their two children: Joel and wife Andrea (Howard) Mitchell of East Wakefield, Jillian (Mitchell) De Vries and husband Ryan De Vries of Colorado Springs, Colorado, 4 grandchildren: Taylor, Nathan, Roslyn and Lydia, a brother Garth Mitchell of Rollinsford, a sister Avis (Mitchell) Sesin of Somersworth, also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Gary Mitchell of Rollinsford.

Calling hours are Thursday February 19, 2015 from 5-7 pm at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to: The Michael J. Fox Foundation.
