Joyce Ann Gardner, age 77, of Lone Star Avenue in Farmington, died March 28, 2017, at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born January 3, 1940, a daughter of Gerard B. and Irene M. (Godsill) Gardner, who were formerly of Claremont, she resided in Farmington, for many years.
A graduate of East Bridgewater High School, Class of 1957, she attended Shepherd-Gill School of Practical Nursing. Upon graduation, she worked as an L.P.N. at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, until the end of 1999. For the next six years, she worked at Hattie's Assisted Living in Farmington and the Studley Home in Rochester.
Joyce was a communicant at St. Peter's Church, a former religious education teacher, she played guitar and sang with the folk group at church.
She loved to cook, especially baking and cake decorating, enjoyed gardening, flowers and vegetables, enjoyed feeding the birds and she loved her cats.
A foster parent with St. Charles Children's Home in Rochester, she is survived by her goddaughter: Cheryl Nadeau, her sister: Barbara and husband James Lawrence of Alton, many Cousins, Nieces,Nephews and granchildren: Cory, Brittani, Julianna and Jacob.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 11am at St. Peter's Church, 90 Central Street, Farmington, NH with Fr. Thomas Duston, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will be later in the spring at Pine Grove Cemetery in Farmington.
