Alton Bay, NH

Joseph Raymond Tanguay, age 89, of Trask Side Road, Alton Bay, died July 3, 2019 at Wolfeboro Bay Center, after a period of failing health.

Born November 30, 1929 in Lowell, MA, a son of Joseph and Leda (Grimard) Tanguay, he was raised there and lived there for years, also resided in Pelham and Hudson, NH and lived in Alton Bay for over 25 years.

Raymond was retired from Raytheon, a machinist.

He was a veteran of the United States Army.

A member of the Winnipesaukee Radio Control Flying Club, having served as Treasurer, he loved building model airplanes and boats.

Survived by his wife Mary (Blaisdell) Chamberlin Tanguay, his daughter Patricia Anderson, 3 grandchildren: Danielle, Rick and David, 2 stepsons: Erving Chamberlin and Allan Chamberlin, 2 stepgrandchildren: Michael and Jessica, 5 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren, also many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his daughter Judy St. Hilaire and 5 siblings: Lucien, Lionel, Richard, William and Ruth.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 11am at Peaslee Alton Funeral Home, 12 School Street, Alton, NH, with a calling hour prior to the service from 10-11am.  Interment be at New Hampshire State Veteran's Cemetery in Boscawen, NH at 1:30pm. If desired, memorial donations may be made in his memory to your local humane society.
