Joseph R. Murphy, Jr., "Murf", age 58, of Deboer Lane in E. Wakefield, NH, died suddenly, while sleeping, Friday morning, January 13, 2012, at home.
Born December 10, 1953 in Salem, MA, the son of Joseph R. and Lorraine T. (Pelletier) Murphy, Sr., he resided in Salem, MA for most of his life and resided in E. Wakefield, NH the past 8 years.
He served with the United States Army, during the Vietnam Era.
Murf was employed at General Electric in Lynn, MA, the past 37 years, with the Jet Engine Division, as a Grinder.
He loved fishing.
Survived by his wife Linda M. (McLeod) Murphy, 1 sister Maryanne Gaff of Salem, MA and 4 brothers: Peter J. Murphy of Bradford, MA, Paul R. Murphy of Tamworth, NH, Mark J. Murphy of Hampstead, NH and Gerard Murphy of Chesapeake, VA, also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Kathleen A. Joyce.
Calling hours are Sunday from 2-5 pm at Peaslee Funeral Home, 2079 Wakefield Road in Sanbornville (Wakefield), NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 10:30 am at St. Anthony's Church on Meadow Street in Sanbornville with Fr. Edmund A. Babicz, pastor, as celebrant.
