Joseph Glenn Barnes, age 51, of Alton, NH, passed away suddenly, on February 28, 2024 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NH, due to heart failure.

Born December 22, 1972 in Winchester, MA, son of John R. Barnes and Glenna Elizabeth (Downs), he resided in Alton, NH most all of his life.

Joseph was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served during Desert Storm.

He worked with Carpentry for about 15 years and then in auto body for another 15 years, having been employed at Grappone Collision Center.

Joe loved his trophy winning custom Harley Davidson, he was a member of the Granite State Chapter of Jarheads Motorcycle Club.

Also a member of the American Legion in Alton.

Joe was a great artist with airbushing, tattoos, etc., he was a Star Wars fan and an avid fan of Hot Wheels.

Predeceased by his mother Glenna and stepfather David Morse, he is survived by 3 children: John David Barnes of Gilmanton, NH, Dillon James Barnes of Portland, ME and Angelina Rose Barnes of Alton, NH, 2 grandchildren: Mathilde Jane Barnes & Byron David Barnes, his sister Andrea Lynne Barnes, his niece Jaylyn Elizabeth Gagnon & her dad James Gagnon.

Calling hours are Monday, March 4, 2024 from 10am-12pm at Peaslee Alton Funeral Home, 12 School Street, Alton, NH.  A Graveside Service will be held at 2pm at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH with military honors by the USMC.  To express condolences, please visit: www.peasleefuneralhome.com
