Jonathan D. Scott, 63, of New Durham, NH, passed away February 24, 2023 after a brief illness. Jon was born in Dearborn, MI on February 18, 1960 to Donald H. and Elaine T. (Belanger) Scott.
After graduating from Kingswood Regional High School in 1978, Jon joined the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS Coral Sea. After completing his service, he obtained a N.H. Master Electricians license. He worked as an electrician for many years, much of that time for Rines Electric.
Jon loved the outdoors. As a young man he would go deer hunting with his father, more for the time together and for the opportunity to be outside than out of any real desire to hunt. He went panning for gold and fished in the Pacific Northwest. He enjoyed camping and being in the mountains. He had a gruff exterior but would drop everything to help a friend. He never asked for anything in return and refused any offers of payment. He was a supportive brother, a generous uncle, and a good friend.
Jon is survived by his sister, Judith Pellowe (Jim Nash) of Barnstead, brother Stephen A. Walker (Deborah) of Kerrville, TX, sister Leslie A. Caputo (Dean Hollatz) of TN, and nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his bonus family Diane Jordan, Evelyn (Brian) Tower and Andy (Michelle) Jordan and their children. He is predeceased by brother Jeffrey C. Scott (Debra) of Melbourne, FL.
A private service will be held in the Spring.
