John Thomas Tucker passed away at his home in Milton, NH on October 19, 2025.

He was born in Burlington, VT on March 13,1963 the son of Allen and Eleanor Tucker. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Kathy and his children Justin (Nycole) grandkids Benjamin, Jayden, Bryson, Brenden and Maci Wood, Krystal Wood, grandkids Olivia Wood, Jon, and Madelyn, Daniel Wood (Danielle) grandkids Jackson and Theo. His siblings- Allen (Ann), Constance (Bill), and Gail (Joseph).

John graduated from VUHS, attended Vermont Tech and enlisted in the US Navy in 1980.  A member of the Special Warfare Operations Pacific from 1988-1993 (Navy Seal). When he retired from the Navy he transitioned to a new career at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. He retired in March of 2025.

John is remembered by his Commanding Officer aboard the USS Memphis - "I can say he truly embodied what it meant to be a submarine sailor- hardworking, dependable and deeply committed to his ship and shipmates. The Memphis wouldn't have been the same without him. He will always be remembered with respect and admiration."

John embodied the same values as a civilian and continued to serve - always making friends wherever he went.  Known for always lending a hand, respectful, and kind, loved his country, John was a pillar of any community he was involved in - which were many.  John loved the outdoors, riding his motorcycle and working on the land.  He was hardworking, always had a story to tell….time to talk to a friend (everybody was a friend) even from his "diesel wheelchair."
