John D. Portigue age 84 of Sanford, ME, passed away on June 5, 2022 at Summer Commons in Sanford, ME.

Born in Wolfeboro, NH on October 3, 1937, son of Fred M. Portigue and Bessie (Burrows) Portigue.

John worked as a Dishwasher for Community Meals.

He was a part of the Special Olympics, receiving a certificate of honors.

John enjoyed his cats and his many friends in Biddeford, ME, where he lived for many years.

He is survived by his sister Ella Bradley and her husband David Bradley, brother Herb Portigue and his wife Virginia, along with his extended family. Predeceased by his parents and his brother Robert Portigue.

John's family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Summer Commons Staff in Sanford, ME.

A calling hour will be held on Monday, June 13th, 2022 from 11:00am to 12Noon with a service at Noon at First Congregational Church, 400 Main Street, Farmington NH, family and friends are welcome. Burial to follow at Old Riverside Cemetery in Alton, NH.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Maine Special Olympics.
