John H.DiPrizio, 87, of Middleton, NH passed away on Friday, March 5, 2010 at the Hyder Family Hospice House (Seacoast Hospice), Dover, NH, surrounded by family and friends.

Son of the late Charles and Louisa (Barletta) DiPrizio, John was born in Middleton on September 22, 1922. John lived in Middleton most of his life. He attended Farmington High School and graduated from Spaulding High School, Rochester in 1942.

John was a founding co-owner of Charles DiPrizio and Sons Lumber and Building Materials in Middleton, NH, started in 1938. He started the retail business and worked as manager until 1993; when the LaValley family purchased the company and renamed it Middleton Building Supply. John loved his work and continued working there both as the ?coffee maker?, handy man, and in the cabinet shop until January 29, 2010, when he was lovingly hosted with a retirement party with many friends and family present.

John was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Corps of Engineers from 1943 to 1946.

John was a communicant of St Peter?s Parish in Farmington, NH. He was a past director of the Community National Bank in Rochester and participated in many community, military, and professional associations including:

John loved life, family, friends and was an avid gardener. In the spring he enjoyed making maple syrup with his brother, Prisco N DiPrizio. In the broader community, John was widely known for his daffodil gardens, his Halloween Trick or Treat bags, and his Christmas light display. John enjoyed lumbermens conventions and travelling the world with his wife and family.

Survivors include his daughter, Dianne and husband, Philip Dickerson of Littleton, MA.; his son, Carmen J. and wife, Joyce DiPrizio of Union, NH; five grandchildren, Mary DiPrizio and Ryan DiPrizio, Christopher Reed, Taylor Mahar, and Maura Rury and her husband Jonathan; a great-granddaughter, Caitlin; brothers, Prisco N and wife Lois, Charles Jr (Sonny) and wife Sandy; sisters, Evelyn Luongo and husband Nick, and Eleanor LaCarrubba; sister-in-law Lois McCrone; also many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews.

John was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Enid Lowd DiPrizio, who died in 2007; their son, Albert Charles DiPrizio, his parents, Charles and Louisa, his brothers, Constandino (Gus), Alvino, and Anthony DiPrizio; as well as brothers-in-law, Manny LaCarrubba and Henry McCrone; sisters-in-law, Sonia DiPrizio, Rosemarie DiPrizio and Evelyn DiPrizo.

Calling hours are Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central St., Farmington, N.H. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 13 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Peter's Church, 88 Central St., Farmington, with Fr. Daniel J. Sinibaldi, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will be in the spring at Milton Mills Cemetery.
