John Edward Beckwith, Jr., age 53, of Meadow Street in Sanbornville, died July 7, 2014 at home, surrounded by his loving family, after a battle with cancer.
Born December 2, 1960 in Wolfeboro, the son of John Edward Beckwith, Sr. and Barbara Lillian (Chick) Beckwith, he resided in Sanbornville for most of his life.
A Truck Driver, he had worked with Alan Laskey and Sons Construction, Taylor Egg and most recently was a long hauler with Bay and Bay Transfer. He also had worked at Cabletron in the IT Department in networking.
John had served for 9 years with the Army National Guard.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, water skiing, playing cards and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survived by his father John Edward Beckwith, Sr. and his 2 children: Jeremy M. Beckwith, Jessica R. Beckwith and Randy Downs, Jr., 3 grandchildren: Lillian Grace Beckwith, Nathan M. Beckwith and Brendan E. Downs, 3 siblings: Barbara and husband Alan Laskey, Deborah and husband Steven Walker, Gloria and husband Bryan Dodier, also many cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and 2 aunts. Predeceased by his mother Barbara, 2 brothers: Richard L. Beckwith and William H. Beckwith, also a nephew Joseph Laskey.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 11:00am at Peaslee Funeral Home, 2079 Wakefield Road in Sanbornville NH, with a calling hour prior to the service from 10-11am. Interment will follow at Woodman Cemetery in East Wakefield, with military honors by the United States Army. If desired, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the charity of one's choice.
