Joan Brown Hynes age 91, formerly of Wakefield, NH, passed away January 23, 2025 at Mountain View Community.

Born on September 9, 1933, in Lewiston, ME, the oldest daughter of Ernest H. Brown, Sr. And Dorothy L. (Kenney) Brown. She was raised in Wayne, ME. High school graduate of Winthrop High School, Class of 1952. She has resided in Connecticut, Florida, Bedford, NH, 50 years in Wakefield, NH, and previously in Ossipee, NH for 3 years.

Joan retired from Mountain View Community as a Dietitian.

A longtime member of the Sanbornville Methodist Church.

Joan enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, and stamp collecting. She and her late husband Albert volunteered with Meals on Wheels. They also enjoyed going to Pairs and Spares.

Survived by her son: Timothy E. Healy and wife Candace, 2 grandsons: Timothy R. Healy and wife Erica, Cody J. Healy and fiancée Katie Kathios, 3 great grandchildren: Grayson, Roman, and Nora, her brother: Ernest H. Brown, Jr., and wife Susan, her sister: June Jenneke and husband Keith, along with a numerous amount of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by her late husband: Albert R. Hynes of 37 years, husband: Howard A. Garland (passed away in 1983), her sister: Jeanne Constance, and her brother-in-law Franklin "Buck" Barclay.

A graveside service will be held in the spring.
