Donnell
December 27, 1957 – January 2, 2022
Jean Donnell of Rochester, NH formerly of Farmington, NH, joined her Baby Cakes in heaven from breast cancer on January 2, 2022 at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire surrounded by her loving family.
Jean was born on December 27 th , 1957 in Rochester, the daughter of Samuel and Jean (Norman) Joy. Jean grew up in New Durham and attended the Governor Wentworth School District. Jean raised her family in New Durham and Farmington until 2010 when she moved to Rochester.
Jean worked as a taxi cab driver, assembly line worker at Textron, GI Plastics, and Electro Pac. She worked as a machinist then transferred to the shipping dept at Baystate Carbide. Jean worked part time at Wal-Mart until she made a career change to do what she always wanted to do. She became a LNA and worked at Riverside Rest Home in Dover for almost 19 years doing what she did best taking care of others. Her residents meant so much to her and she took such good care of them that their families still kept in touch with her after their loved ones had passed on.
Jean loved birds, children, chocolate, Shirley Temple movies, reading, playing Farmville, cookouts and catching up with old and new friends on Facebook. Her all-time favorite past time was being with her family. To her family meant everything.
She is survived by her son Neil Lozey of Farmington, NH, daughter Melanie Thompson and her husband Jason of Rochester, NH, daughter Tanaya Taylor and her husband Paul of Farmington, NH, brother Samuel Joy and his fiancé Tina of Farmington, NH, her brother Alan Joy and his wife Nancy of Northfield, NH and her sister Maryellen Goodrich and her husband Donald of Tuftonboro, NH. Seven grandchildren Jayson, Ashlee, Philip, Emily, Gabriella, Parker and Sonny were her pride and joy. She had many nieces and nephews that she had an open revolving door at her home for them like they were her own. And she had a whole bunch of cousins. Jean opened her home to anyone in need of a place child or adult.
She is predeceased by her husband Bruce Donnell, father Samuel Joy, mother Jean Joy, and sister Melinda Smith.
