Obituary
ROCHESTER — Jason R. Merrill, 40, of Charles Street in Rochester, died suddenly Aug. 6, 2010, at Frisbie Memorial Hospital.
Born July 25, 1970, in Exeter, the son of Frank L. and Gladys V. (Scott) Merrill, he was raised in Otis, Maine, and resided in Ellsworth, Maine, where he attended school. He lived in Rochester for the past 22 years.
He was a self-employed carpenter as Team Merrill Home Improvements in Rochester. He also had worked for Abbott Construction.
He enjoyed camping, kayaking, hiking and white water rafting at the Forks in Maine. He was a skilled carpenter and craftsman who also enjoyed building computers. He especially loved animals, including his dog, "Benny."
He is survived by his parents, Frank L. and Gladys V. Merrill of Shapleigh, Maine; his fiancee, Lynda M. Phillips of Rochester; two sons, Christopher A. Sublette and Stephen A. Elliott, both of Rochester; four daughters, Ashlyn M. Merrill of Lee, Alexandra "Lexi" N. Merrill, Elizabeth A. Phillips and Stephanie K. Elliott, all of Rochester; four brothers, Sumner R. Watson of Sharon Springs, N.Y., Scott R. Watson of Gonic, S. David Watson and Spencer J. Watson, both of Greenville, S.C.; four sisters, Susan V. Pelletier and Sharon R. Hussey, both of Rochester, Shirley R. Bilodeau of Farmington and Sara L. Watson of Alton; also many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, including his special nephew Kevin Watson of Rochester.
Calling hours are Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central St., Farmington, NH 03835. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday Aug. 11, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Alfred Weeden, pastor of the Milton Assembly of God, officiating. Urn interment will follow the service at Rochester Cemetery, Franklin Street in Rochester.
