Janice Zins, age 90, formerly of Old Bay Road, New Durham, died January 9, 2013 at Langdon Place of Dover, where she most recently resided.
Born in Farmington on March 13, 1922, the daughter of Arthur and Ethel (Brooks) Hayes, she was a graduate of Farmington High School, Class of 1940.
She enlisted in the WAC and served her country as a Sergeant in the Air Transport Command, stationed in Montana.
Janice so loved her family and friends, travel and all kinds of interesting projects. She also spent many hours doing volunteer work.
Predeceased by her husband Albert J. Zins in 1988, a sister, a brother and many cousins, she is survived by her daughter Jade and son in law Thomas Thornton, her son Arthur Zins, 3 grandsons, a granddaughter and 2 great grandchildren.
As per her wishes, there are no visiting hours, a private graveside ceremony will be held in the spring at Pine Grove Cemetery in Farmington. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to: Hope Lodge, Oak Street, Worcester, MA.
