Obituary

James Donald Thomas, age 53, died unexpectedly, June 2, 2020 at Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin, of natural causes.

...

Born September 29, 1966 in Wolfeboro, NH, son of Edwin Donald Thomas and June Yvonne (Meyer) Thomas, he was raised in Melvin Village, NH and attended Kingswood Regional High School in Wolfeboro.

James was a big man with a big personality, but an even bigger heart.  He gave of himself without thought of compensation.  He loved people and loved life.  He provided stability and love to each and every person.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  He leaves behind his wife, Catherine; his mother, June (Meyer) Thomas; his sister and her husband, Kelly and Kenny Wilson; his brother and his wife, Eddie and Susan Thomas; his son and his wife, James and Catherine Thomas; his daughter, Jade; his step-sons Mark, Michael, and Patrick.  He leaves behind his loving daughter-in-law, AnnMarie.  He also leaves behind his mignons: Nicholas, Amber, Jasmine, Abigail, Gage, Reilly, Kaylee, Ronald, and Lillian.  He will be missed by his nieces and nephew: Samantha, Ashley, Amanda, and Justin.  He leaves behind his furry four-leggers: Dozer and Tacia.  Finally, he leaves behind his best friend, Peter Driscoll, and his second honey, Karen Bookholtz.

He was predeceased by his father, Edwin Thomas.

James worked as an over-the-road trucker, construction worker, welder, and jack of all trades, and a master of a few.  He enjoyed working with his hands, like building wooden shelving units or welding together a trailer to haul his beloved 1983 Goldwing.

James enjoyed outdoor life: hunting, fishing, sledding, motorcycling, boating, anything that was outdoors.  He said that was where he was closest to God.

He was the eternal optimist.  Everything would be all right, no matter what.  Everything will be just fine, in the world according to James.

He was a devoted husband, a considerate father, an attentive son, a great brother, but mostly, James was a good person.  He was truly a wonderful person.

On to his next adventure...
