James H. Hoage, Jr., age 88, a longtime resident of Farmington passed away peacefully August 24, 2013 at The Studley Home in Rochester, NH where he most recently resided.



Born June 29, 1925 in Farmington, NH, the son of James H. Hoage, Sr. and Lucille (Hatch) Hoage, he resided there most all of his life.



He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion Farmington Post 60. He had been a superintendent at several local shoe factories, including the former Alton Shoe and Hubbard Shoe.



Jim (also known as "Wheat" to many people) loved camping, gardening, woodworking and hanging out with the guys at Watson Corner Service Center.



Survived by his wife of 67 years: Barbara M. (Nason) Hoage and their 4 children: Thomas Hoage of Rochester, Linda S. and husband Paul Moulton, Gary Hoage, Roxanne and husband Gary Pageau, all of Farmington, 6 grandchildren: Corey, Jamie and Michael Moulton, Tarsha and Devon Pageau, Jarrod Hoage, 5 great grandchildren, 2 sisters: Donna Chesley of Farmington, Betty and husband Phillip Carpenter of Lebanon, Maine, 1 brother: Edward and wife Lynda Hoage of Wolfeboro and Florida, also many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents and 7 siblings: Richard, Newall, Raymond and Donald Hoage, Janet Congram, Lillian Smith and Helen Hoage, also a grandson: Travis Hoage.



The family extends a very special thank you to the staff at The Studley Home for taking such good care of Dad and also thanks to Cornerstone VNA/Hospice.



There are no calling hours, family and friends are welcome to "A Celebration of Life" on Friday, August 30, 2013 at 11:00 am at Nute Ridge Bible Chapel, 100 Nute's Road, Milton, NH 03851, with Pastor Bob Walsh, officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Pine Grove Cemetery in Farmington.
