Irene May Leighton, age 96, of Chestnut Hill Road in Farmington, NH, passed away peacefully at home on February 11, 2024.

Born May 13, 1927 in Manchester, NH, daughter of Charles Ross & Edith (Hanson) Ross, she had resided for many years in Lebanon, Maine, and also many years in Farmington, NH.

In earlier years, Irene had been a shoe shop worker at local shoe factories.

Widow of the late Edwin P. Leighton, who died in 2009, she is survived by their children:  Mary Zawadil, Marjorie & husband Paul Nielsen, Maurice Wayne Goodwin, Pamela Warden & husband Tony Skibicki, Joan & husband Norman Davis, Eva Cullen and Robert Goodwin, 3 step daughters, 13 grandchildren Kim, Donna, Margie, Scott, Marty, Dean, Chad, Heather, Missy, Scott, Shelly, Lisa, and Dawn, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, brother Earle Ross and sister Mildred Leighton, also several cousins, nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by 2 daughters: Sonia Baker and Linda Smith, grandson Norman, also her brother Nelson Ross.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 11am at Milton Christian Fellowship on Route 75 in Milton with Pastor Jim Weeden and Pastor Sonny Bassett, officiating.  A calling hour is prior to the service from 10-11am at the church.  Interment will be in the spring at Forest Grove Cemetery in Lebanon, Maine.  Arrangements by Peaslee Funeral Home, to express condolences, please visit: www.pealseefuneralhome.com
