Irene Mae Land, age 79, passed away peacefully, Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover, with the love of her family and friends and the very special caring staff there.
Born September 1, 1934 at home, on Mechanic Street in Farmington, the daughter of Laura N. (Hussey) and Wilfred H. Worster, she lived in Farmington all of her life and worked hard in the local shoe factories.
She spent 52 years of her summers relaxing at her camp at English's Camping Area on Ossipee Lake with all her dear friends and family.
Irene loved watching her big screen TV. An avid fan of the Red Sox, she wrote down all their statistics and could tell you anything you wanted to know about them. She also loved watching and keeping up with NASCAR races. She loved family gatherings and country music.
A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she leaves behind her daughter: Laura Anne Sutton and her special "son"in law David Sutton and her daughter Ginny Mae Smith, who all loved her very much. She was also dearly loved and adored by her grandchildren: Brandon R. and wife Sheila Sutton, Shayne D. Sutton and Eliza, Cody L. Sutton and Kevin, Rhyan and husband Sean O'Reilly, Jacob McKenney and Katie. Also, she will be truly missed and took great pride in her great grandchildren: Austin and Brayden O'Reilly, Avery and Collin Sutton and baby Lillian McKenney.
In addition to her biological children, Irene leaves behind her very loving stepchildren and grandchildren: Deborah Gagnon and her husband William, Charles "Chuckie" Land and his wife Lawanna, Craig Land and his wife Johanne and Patricia Land, who has also been a wonderful part of her life.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Claud E. Land, who died Dec. 9, 2010 and her husband Roland B. Houle, the father of Laurie and Ginny, who died at a young age on Jan. 22, 1977.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 11:00 am at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH with Pastor Brad Trafton, officiating. The calling hour is prior to the service from 10-11am. Interment will follow the service at Pine Grove Cemetery in Farmington.
