Obituary

Sanbornville, NH

Henry Mason Blanton, age 86, of Lovell Lake Road in Sanbornville, passed on to meet with his Lord, at home, on August 10, 2013. A kind, gentle man with a heart larger than life, he would help anyone in need.

Born May 28, 1927 in Cowpens, South Carolina, he was the son of Jonas B. and Minnie (Fortenberry) Blanton.

He was an auto mechanic for 40 years, at Hart Motor, then Miller Chevrolet.

Henry served his town of Wakefield and townspeople for many years, as a Police Officer, Health Officer and Animal Control Officer. A special man with children in "his" town of Wakefield, watching over them at kiddie dances and at "Wakefield Pride Day", each year. All voters knew Henry at the polls, standing guard of voters and votes.

His gardens were a pleasure to all.

He was predeceased by his wife Nancy (Hutchins) Blanton, brothers: Lionel, Detroy, John B., Joe Dean and Howell G. and sisters: Julia Mae and Sally Fae.

Survived by his wife Ruth E. Blanton, children: Wanda Cooper, Kelly Carter, Relf Fogg and Sue Ooten, 8 grandchildren: Davlyn, James, Liza, Amy, Sarah, Kea, Kim and Keith, several great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. We would also like to mention his special friends: Bernie Greenfield, A.J. Leitner and Ken Fifield.

As per his request, there will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held at a date and time to be announced. If desired, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the NHSPCA, PO Box 196, Stratham, NH 03885.
