Guerdon E. King, Jr., age 73 of Sanbornville passed away on April 24, 2015.

Born in Acton, Maine on October 4, 1941 he was one of 8 children born to the late Marjorie and Guerdon E. King, Sr.

For most of his adult life, Guerdon owned and operated G. King Construction on the Hopper Road in Acton, Me only a stone's throw away from where he and his father began 73 years ago.

In 1978, he was elected Road Commissioner for the town of Acton and served until 2000.

During his life he was a strong believer in community services and helping others, receiving in 2004 the Mary Dennett Award for outstanding community service.

Once a year you would find Guerdon and his wife Carlene at the Acton Airfield off Rte 109. He and his business partner of the Airfield would host an open house and cookout with plane rides that the town residents were invited to attend. He also greatly enjoyed reading Louis L'Amour, dancing, fishing and motorcycle riding.

Guerdon was predeceased by his first wife Marjorie Drew King in 1987.

He is survived by his wife Carlene King, daughters LuAnn Johnson and fiancé Rick Rodney, Holly Zerbinopoulos and husband Lance; two grandchildren Alexis and Guerdon Zerbinopoulos and three stepchildren Chris Ann Paul and husband Ken, Roy Haley Jr. and wife Stacie and Andy Wilkinson and wife Claire along with grandchildren Cory, Ryan and Ashley Fothergill and Brent Haley and great granddaughter Charlotte Fothergill, siblings Marcia Acker, Harry King and Susan Clark, and predeceased: parents Marjorie and Guerdon King Sr. and siblings Mildred Dresser, Marie Ponder, Betty Cushing and Ronald King.
