Obituary

Goldie I. Goslin, age 102, of Farmington, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, December 24, 2021 with family members at her side. She was born on November 18, 1919 in Ashland, Maine to Angus and Celina (Carney) White.

She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Victor, her son Frances (Bing), her grandsons Shawn Hall, and Randall (KY-KY) Goslin, and her brothers Morris and Sydney White. Goldie is survived by her sons Ronald and his wife Margaret, Randall (KY) and his wife Donna, Barry, Michael and his wife Karen, Garry and his wife Janice (Bunny), and her daughter Trudy and her husband Clarence, 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren.

Goldie raised 7 children and lived in the same home for over 80 years. She worked as a stitcher in the local shoe shops for many years. She enjoyed shopping, rides by the ocean and going out to eat. Yellow roses were her favorite. In 2018 she was presented with the Boston Cane for being the oldest citizen in Farmington, NH.

She was an amazing story teller and had a memory that allowed for great detail of her life growing up very poor in Aroostook County Maine, where living was very hard. Despite her tough beginning, Goldie had a huge heart, a great sense of humor, and she loved to laugh. Family was everything to her. Her doors were open for friends of her children who may have needed a place to sleep or stay for a few days, and an extra plate was often set at the holidays for someone who had no family to spend the day with. She led by example and it shows in her amazing children and grandchildren. She was truly the matriarch of her family, and her amazing force will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

She will be remembered for her feisty spirit and the love she had for her family. At her request there will be no services.
