George F. Hanchett, Sr., age 83, of Adrien Circle in Rochester, died September 25, 2013 at Riverside Rest Home in Dover.

Born October 21, 1929 in Holliston, MA, son of William L. and Eveline (Lingham) Hanchett, he had resided in Rochester, NH since 2009, having previously resided on Governor's Road in Milton, NH for many years and having wintered in Zephyrhills, Florida, the past twenty years.

A United States Army Veteran of the Korean War, he was retired from the former Davidson Rubber Company.

George enjoyed vegetable gardening and animals. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.

Survived by his wife of 62 years: Gloria M. (Moulton) Hanchett and their 4 children: Larry and wife Linda Hanchett, Pamela and husband Francis Riley, George F. Hanchett, Jr. and wife Rose and Gary Hanchett, 7 grandchildren: Christopher and Nick Hanchett, Patrick, Bethany and Neil Riley, Rebecca Quitugua and Ryan Hanchett, 8 great grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Dale W. Hanchett, also 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 3:00 pm at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH, with the calling hour prior to the service from 1-3pm.
