Gareth Sherman Hall, 87, of North Rd died on Saturday, August1, 2026 at Rockingham County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center with family by his side after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and Lewy’s Body disease.

He was born July 13,1939 in Portsmouth, NH; the son of Kenneth B. Hall and Barbara V. Fuller Hall.

Gary resided for much of his life on Sunset Rd. in Portsmouth, NH and enjoyed the city life often walking downtown talking to other locals, shopping, and checking out the local shows/games. He also loved all major sports and enjoyed watching them. Gareth was an avid music lover and would spend many evenings listening to his records or playing his Clavinet. He spent many wonderful summers at his camp, the “Bon Repose”, on Square Pond where he was an avid water skier, participated in their annual summer sailboat races, and enjoyed hiking the various beautiful trails in the area. 

Gareth is survived by his sister Bonnie Witt of Rochester, NH, his Nephew Ryan Rogers of Shapleigh, ME, Niece’s Michelle Witt of Rochester, NH, Lisa Will of Dover, NH, and Melinda Brochu of Farmington, NH; Great Niece’s Kaylyn Tuttle and Alyssa Will, and Great Nephew Matthew Will. He was predeceased by his Mother Barbara V. Hall and Father Kenneth B. Hall.

Celebration of Life will be held from 1-5 PM on Saturday, August 29 located at 31 Chestnut Rd., Shapleigh, ME 04076.
